Why do we do it?
Up at 6:00am 4 times this week and on the trainer. Today's treat was 5, 6-minute LT intervals. The morning espresso kicks in about 10mins into the ride and then it's on like donkey kong.
What do normal people do that don't have to train every day? What's it like to not have that monkey on your back day after day, year after year? Why do us cyclists need the structure and the training to feel normal? Would we all be in insane asylums if the bike wasn't invented?
I threaten to retire from racing every year, but it never happens. I don't know what selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor could replace the bike. The padded room is locked as long as I have the structure of the bike.

Don't get too comfortable Plato... once this kid is about 4, and the second kid is on the way... it's over.
Ask any attentive-parent with two or more small kids. Finis.

I suppose the point of a blog is to talk smack... but I say the jury is still out.
#2 sprung upon us out of the blue... and we are very glad it did.
You shouldn't deny your kid a chance to have a brother or sister growing up... they play together and are best friends. It's healthy for their development.

I got two and third on the way. I'm still popping out 10 hours a week on the bike and racing like a mad man.
everyone makes their own decisions. we have decided on 1.. wrong or right for you or me... it's right for us and how many you have and your decisions is right for you.
